Denton

Our precious puppy came into our lives so quickly and filled our home with joy and excitement. He was the runt of the litter which drew me to him right away. So tiny, just like me! Once we interacted with him his eyes told us we were meant to be his forever home. That was that. He would be ours and we would call him Denton.
Before we got so lucky to bring him home, he was under the best care from his Foster mommy Sharon Tafoya. She describes him as small and mighty, her little engine that could. He tried so hard to keep up with his brothers and sisters. He was very special to Sharon. He was her baby and she would have to bottle feed him which, created a huge bond with the little Guy. The pup with the gentle heart.
She couldn't be more right! He was absolutely gentle and his eyes had a special sparkle about them. He was a blessing.
Sadly, weeks passed and Denton would not be able to fight off a "cold" . We went through many antibiotics till tragically on Valentines day he started having multiple seizures. At that time the vet was concerned about Distemper. A disease our family became very educated on....we were going to fight! Its a tragic disease! We put him on all sorts of meds and gave him around the clock care. We said our prayers, made those wishes and begged for a miracle.
On Monday, February 18th he lost his life here but gained another. He was only with us for a short period of time but, we will love him and remember him forever!
We believe he is up in Heaven, wagging his tail, jumping through clouds, and melting hearts any chance he gets! We love you!

Missing you already Denton.  The Koepp Family

Mr. Parker
In loving of little Mr. Parker.  He came to Colorado with his four brothers from a shelter in Texas.  Unfortunately, the 12 hours that they spent in the shelter left him exposed to the distemper virus which we didn't learn about until more than 10 days later after he was adopted.  Parker was lucky enough to have a VERY loving family that took amazing care of him during his short stay here in Colorado and on earth.  Run free little Parker.  You deserve the world!

Mr. Pine

The Greer Family feels very lucky to have spent four weeks with one of the sweetest puppies on the planet!  We will miss snuggling in front of the fire with him and watching him chase after tennis balls.  When he crossed the rainbow bridge he took a piece of our families heart and soul with him.  Pine will be loved and missed forever!

Ms. Windy & Mr. Winston

Ms. Pracilla
In loving memory of little Miss Pracilla from her loving Mile High Lab Mission family.  Miss Pracilla was trying for a new life in Colorado but prior to her departure from Texas, she was unfortunately exposed to the distemper virus.  Pracilla and MHLRM fought as hard as we could but this little girl lost her fight on the evening of the 20th of October 2010.  While her stay in Colorado was short lived, she enjoyed the finer things in life such as a loving foster family that showed her unconditional love.  You will be forever in our hearts.

Mr. Herman aka Otis... (March - June 2010)
Otis learned “sit,” “come,” “down,’” “off,” “leave it,” “get it,” and “speak” so quickly it made our heads spin, and took to housebreaking like a pro. He showed a respect to our cat, Seamus, that was far beyond his age, and was always happy to greet guests in our home. Most of all, he adored his big brother Sam, who loved him in return. He was a sweet, intelligent, loving dog, and we miss him very much.

Ms. Haddi aka Kona... (March - June 2010)
Haddi (aka Kona by her foster family in Kansas) is sisters with Hailey.  Haddi's story is very similar to Hailey's.

Haddi came to MHLRM from North Carolina with 5 of her litter mates after loosing their mother while they were very young and finding a surrogate mother.

Haddi actually never made it to Colorado as she has a upper respiratory infection that prevented her from making the final 600 mile trip.  A family that helped foster her in Kansas wanted to adopt her if she pulled through and loved her as their own...

Haddi, you will always hold a special place in our hearts.  Run free our little girl.

Mr. Izzy and Mr. Inkie... (April - June 2010)
Izzy & Inkie, both brothers form North Carolina, traveled to Colorado with their momma and litter mates...

Their entire family was scheduled for death and sometime in transit to Colorado, their family was exposed to distemper...

Both boys fought a hard battle and unfortunately distemper got the best of these sweet souls.  Thank you to Lynda their foster mom for giving them unconditional love for three weeks and taking amazing care of them.  Thank you to Jasper Animal Hospital and Dr. Dodge for helping us ease their suffering and cross the Rainbow Bridge.

Although these two babies never got to have a family of their own in Colorado, they spent one lovely month in Colorado where they got to hang with their siblings and play and grow.  They will always be a part of the Mile High family and they hold a special pace in our hears.

Little Miss Hailey... (March - May 2010)
Hailey came to MHLRM from North Carolina with 5 of her litter mates after loosing their mother while they were very young and finding a surrogate mother.

Hailey and her entire litter were exposed to distemper somewhere along their trip to Colorado.

Hailey got to spend two great weeks with the Cohen family in Conifer, Colorado where all she got to know was LOVE!  Thank you Cohen family for giving her the best before she crossed the rainbow bridge.
