| Leash | Evie is a bit afraid of the leash but is coming along nicely! |
| Personality | A little note from her foster momma: Evie is a little scared at first and apparently doesn't like being on a leash. We tried today and she did well. Evie will lay down when other people come towards her. It is probably because she thinks she is going in another car. So our little outing today was good. She plays real well with other dogs and loves the SNOW. She is a lover, but needs someone that has the patience to train her well. Evie uses her weight to not do certain things (We have all been there). She is working on using a kennel for GOOD things…But such a good dog!!! |
| Story | Evie came to MHLRM with her momma from Utah were they were dumped into the pound. ;( |
| Thanks! | Thanks Tanya for watching this sweetie! |

| Children | Ellinger is in a foster home with a 2 year old and DOES AMAZING with her. He rides in the car next to her and also takes a lot of lovin from her. He really does adore the little kids! |
| Leash | Ellinger is not hard to handle on a leash. He doesn't appear to have any formal leash training but with a body harness, he does great! |
| Personality | Ellinger ADORES people and other dogs. Although he is fully crate trained, he has proven he does not need to be crated at all! He is fully house trained and does wonderful with other dogs in the home! The only time he has barked is when he really wanted to play with other dogs that were snoozing in the sun! Ellinger is a blessing in the car and is always ready to roll. He will be your shadow at home for sure. He loves his people and does bond very quickly too. He really should go to a home with other people and dogs. He would do great as a dog that can go to work with somebody or somebody that is home the majority of the time as he is SO well behaved! |
| Story | Ellinger came to MHLRM from Illinois. For some unknown reason Ellinger is suffering from seizures. We have run blood work and cleared him of issues with that. We are now working on getting his seizure medecine figured out so he can be seizure free. He also has a bum back leg. We are waiting for our vet to give us the all-clear to x-ray and explore what is causing his back left leg to be favored. We suspect that he may have been hit by a car and that could be causing his leg issue and seizures. Never-the-less, MHLRM is dedicated to finding this guy the right treatment that will be best in the long-run as wel as a furever family! This guy is SO darn sweet, really, really, really, sweet. Please don't read that he has seizures (very easy to manage) and that he can't be your running partner and pass him over! He would be a wonderful office dog, business greeter, and/or day-time companion! He plays so darn well and does so great in a home with children! Somebody is missing out on this guy for sure. As the volunteer that wrote this profile up, she noted that he was snoring at her feet resting on a dog bed like a polite gentleman! |
| Thanks! | Thanks to the McGander family for watching Ellinger and Camp Bow Wow of Broomfield for doggie day care during the day! |

| Leash | DREAM DOG on a leash!!! |
| Personality | Flora is a delight to have at my house! She is getting along just fine with my dogs and is settling in very quickly. She is a Velcro dog, always wanting to be by her people. She is very curious too, it's super cute. Just with things like the oven, the blinds, and closet doors. Might I add she was super fascinated by her reflection in the mirror, I couldn't get her to stop staring. She LOVES toys, especially ones with squeakers in them. She was super playful and did the whip your head move with her toys. She seems to be a newbie at that move so it looks more like a graceful dance, very entertaining to watch. She loves the car, she kept sticking her snout beside my ear while I drove. She goes potty outside very well. She loves being as close to her people as possible, she's been doing this head rub thing on my legs when I give her attention. She just rubs and rolls her head all over me trying to get as close as she possibly can. Very very cute. She doesnt pull on leash and is very manageable. I left her in my apartment to take my dogs potty and she didn't make a peep, no freak outs, no accidents, no getting into anything. She just waited very patiently. She is VERY cuddly. She just wants to be as close to you as possible so she thinks that means she is supposed to lay on your lap instead of beside you. That is exactly what she is doing right now. She is SO sweet!!!! From her foster Mom: Meet Flora! I am a people loving Lab mix, I love attention from my foster mom and anyone who visits. I remember my manners almost all the time! I shake and sit, and walk wonderfully on a leash. I like to play fetch, but I am still working on giving you back the ball! I like to catch it and run around with it, hopping and loving the yard. I play well with other dogs, but I would do best in a home with a submissive dog or as the only dog. I don’t always like other dogs that are too pushy, always wanting to play, share my toys, or my food or water bowl. I get annoyed, but I don’t stay grumpy long. But, my foster Mom has a very pushy, playful large male Lab, and he gets growled at by lots of other dogs for trying to play non-stop, and I’ve been really tolerant and nice to him. I’ve even been the one to start a playful wrestling match. But, he is very submissive, so if I get grumpy, he lets me have my way. A dog like him would be a good sibling for me. I love attention from people the most though, so if I could find a home that wants an only-fur child, and doesn’t want to spend a lot of time on training, I’d be a good fit there too! I have plenty of training to live happily in your home. I’m not destructive, and I don’t bark, and I go to bed on a dog bed when you turn of the lights. I jump up once in awhile, but I’m learning not to very quickly. I respond to a stern, “no,” very well… sometimes I’m just too happy to see you, and I want to put my paws on you for a hello hug! (In the words of my foster Mom): Flora has only been with me and my Lab for 4-1/2 days. She’s already learned the rules of the house, and the feeding and playing schedule we follow. My male Lab is the most hyper dog I have ever met (not an exaggeration) he tends to annoy other dogs with his incescent playfulness. So, Flora growling and an occasional snap towards him isn’t out of the ordinary of other dogs he’s been exposed to. We owned a female Lab, 2 years older than him, that just passed away, and even she snapped at him, after 7 years of dealing with his pushy, playfulness. But, he is very submissive, so he doesn’t continue to instigate if she gets annoyed. I would not call Flora aggressive by ANY means. She just likes a little space with her toys and food, Manny (my Lab) doesn’t know the definition of personal space. Flora would do great with a submissive dog, as even over this very short time period she has warmed up more and more to Manny’s overwhelming personality. I think she would do well as in a one dog house, especially if one of the humans has a flexible schedule, as she loves human interaction, petting, and cuddling. She has been very good while I’m gone at work with freedom to roam the whole house. She is a sweet dog, with great training, and not an overly hyper personality, but enough energy to love to play. I have had a dog in my life since birth, along with growing up on a farm with lots of animals. She has a personality that cannot be trained. She has one of the best personalities of all the dogs I have spent extended time with, and I think she could make a lot of people very happy. I really hope to see her find a forever home because she deserves it! |

| Personality | |
| Story | Fulton came to us from an amazing rescue lady in Kansas. She got Fulton off a farm where the owners of the farm were going to SHOOT him! He was born on the farm and had two other siblings there... Apparently Fulton liked to chase the horses and as a reasonable solution to that according to the farm folks was to SHOOT him to get rid of him. Thankfully the great lady in Kansas got him and kept him for 6 weeks before he came to Colorado. |
| Thanks! | Thank you Pet Camp Golden for fostering Fulton! |

| Other Dogs | Chelsea does fine with other dogs with slow introductions but can get jealous when another dog is getting more attention than she is. She ideally will be in a home with another super submissive laid back dog or no other dogs. She does very well at Camp Bow Wow in Broomfield and gets a C+ grade as a doggie day care dog, so she isn't "allergic" to other dogs at all! |
| Cats | unsure |
| Children | probably not a good fit for this lady |
| Leash | Chelsea is great on a leash. |
| Personality | |
| Story | I'm Wilma now known as Chelsea and I was actually born into the MHLRM family from my momma back in the day! I'm now looking for my new furever family as it really wasn't working out with my second adoptive family. I've been in the Cell Dog Training Program for the past five weeks and only have a few more weeks before I will be on the hunt for hopefully you! I'm a GREAT girl but need to probably be in an only dog home. I LOVE people and like other dogs (I'm a great camper at Camp Bow Wow in Broomfield) but at home I get jealous. Somebody invested almost $700 in me so I have some more manners, am crate trained, and can walk on a leash very nicely! My idea family probably won't have kids and have been dog owners before. I come with a LIFETIME membership to the Cell Dog Refresher program and can on in weekly WITH my family for tips, reminders, and feedback! Do you know who my family is? I would love to meet them soon! |
| Thanks! | Thank you Pet Camp Golden for fostering this little lady! |
