Boulder - adopted 2/25/2011
Boulder came to us from Ottawa, KS, from a smaller and more rural shelter.  He was adopted by a young student but then returned because the student didn't have "time" for him...  Labs aren't yard ornaments!  They are family members.  Ugh.  Boulder had some great volunteers advocating on his behalf and they did all they could to hold him for us until we had room to bring him in!

Thank you to Camp Bow Wow of Boulder for watching Boulder for us!
He is now being renamed Bodi.

Breckenridge - adopted 2/21/2011
Breckenridge was picked up as a stray outside of Denton, TX.  One of our volunteers picked him up and was fostering him...  Go figure that foster family has fallen in love and is in the middle of the application process to adopt they guy and he may not even leave Texas before getting adopted!

Linus - adopted 2/21/2011
Linus was the 5th of eight pups of a litter we commuted to in mid-2010.  They were evidence of a hording case and were born to a senior black lab momma.

Blanca - adopted 2/17/2011
Blanca was pulled from the dreaded KCMO shelter where he contracted kennel cough but was also very close to his euthanasia date...  Our great Kansas volunteer pulled him and took great care of him.  What a catch!  Blanca has found his forever family in Kansas before he even traveled to Colorado!

He is now being renamed Sadler.

Ziggy - adopted 2/14/2011
These babies would surly be dead if their momma Zoe wasn't rescued.  Thankfully Zoe was rescued and was comforted and adjusted very well before she gave birth to these beautiful babies.  We know the only dog that she was ever around in her previous life was a purebread black lab, go figure all these babies are black!

Zable is being renamed Molly!

Bedrock - adopted 2/7/2011
Travis/Bedrock was pulled from Collin County Animal Services in McKinney, Texas on 8.8.10.  He was a neglect case. The family brought him in and said that they could no longer care for him. He was skin and bones. He had no hair from the shoulders down from a bad case of flea infestation.  He was heartworm positive, but has already finished treatment. When our volunteer got him in August he was just a shell of a dog....very sad....and unsure of things. No personality.  He did not know what a dog toy was or a ball.  He did not wag his tail. He did not know how to give or receive affection.  Thank you Susan for rescuing this boy and making him a loved dog!  We are excited to get him here from Texas!

Thank you to Camp Bow Wow of Northglenn for watching Bedrock!

Carbondale - adopted 2/6/2011
Carbondale was part of a litter of 10 puppies dropped off at the pound by  the owner.  He stated they were 7 wks old.  He said their mom was a Lab but she got out so he had no idea what Dad was.  After rescue, 6 out of 10 came down with Parvo.  After aggressive treatment 2 of the 6 survived leaving only 6 puppies.  MHLRM is very lucky with all the volunteer help we received to help this pack of pups make it to Colorado from Victoria, TX...
